Can SA win again?
While the South African A1GP team struggled in Malaysia, a strong contingent of South African karters will be hoping to restore South African pride at the Rotax World Finals taking place in Langkawi this Saturday.

This is the world cup of karting as 130 competitors from 45 countries will battle through qualifying races to reach the final on Saturday. Three titles are up for grabs – Junior Max, Max Challenge and RM1/DD2.
South African drivers have won all six Rotax Max Finals held to date but have yet to win the junior title. Three top junior South Africans hope to set the record straight.

Morgado and Orr are hot favourites in the RM1/DD2 class and will be joined by fellow South African, Rustenburg based Michael van Rooyen. Morgado won the 2003 World title in Egypt and the 2005 Euro Challenge. Orr won the 2004 RM1 World Final in Lanzarotte and has also excelled in the Euro challeng and Italian Open Championship this year.
Dubanite Ralph Odendaal won the South African Rotax Max Challenge 2005 and will be our only representitive in the Max Challenge category. He represented South Africa in the Rotax Junior Max World Final in Lanzerotte, Canary Isles last year finishing in 4th position.

Having won the Junior Max Euro Championship, Vereeniging’s Arnold Neveling will be the target for the others in the Rotax Junior Max Final. Other South African representation comes from Capetonian Jonathan Wiehahn, winner of the 2005 South African Rotax Max Challenge, and Riccardo Raciti from Estcourt, winner of the Redbull Challenge.
