INFORMATION ON NEW ROTAX CLUTCH

BRP-Powertrain has a clear mandate to improve the quality of ROTAX kart products. Due to the feedback from the market about cracking centrifugal clutches, BRP-Powertrain developed a new, improved centrifugal clutch with increased durability.

Advantages:

  • removed material in stress area
  • additional CNC machining
  • chamfer on bottom side – to minimize risk of notching effect caused by laser cutting

Engine Performance:

New design of clutch does not provide any advantage in lap time although if the mass inertia is reduced.

ROTAX MAX Challenge:

Both configurations are legal to be used in the ROTAX MAX Challenge.
